Michigan here we go!

The plan had been to drive to the upper peninsula of MI, but since Baby S decided to take over, we cut the trip shorter and only did the western side of MI. This road trip was with R&M.

We did a wine trail and stopped at about 4 wineries. Of course there were tastings at each one and many bottles of wine bought. :D

We spent the night in Grand Rapids and in the morning we went to the Frederick Meijer Gardens. Is this life imitating art? J thinks so...

After lunch, we drove up north to Manistee and the boys went fishing. This seems a bit calmer than their last fishing trip. R didn't have any faith in me and was wondering what I had gotten them into.

Looks like the boys had fun and will definitely do this again. No 4 am wake up time and no puking! Here's J and his rare brown trout.

R and J caught 4 salmon, here they are with their catches. R insists that he caught the biggest but failed to take a picture so I guess we'll have to take his word for it....

We spent the night in Manistee and the next day we drove along the western shore and stopped at a few places before heading home. Here we are on the beach in Ludington.

After playing in the sand we drove on to Muskegon and R, M and J toured the USS Silverside submarine. We also shopped a bit in Holland. A great end to a fun trip. Where will we go next year?
