Michigan here we go!

The plan had been to drive to the upper peninsula of MI, but since Baby S decided to take over, we cut the trip shorter and only did the western side of MI. This road trip was with R&M.

We did a wine trail and stopped at about 4 wineries. Of course there were tastings at each one and many bottles of wine bought. :D

We spent the night in Grand Rapids and in the morning we went to the Frederick Meijer Gardens. Is this life imitating art? J thinks so...

After lunch, we drove up north to Manistee and the boys went fishing. This seems a bit calmer than their last fishing trip. R didn't have any faith in me and was wondering what I had gotten them into.

Looks like the boys had fun and will definitely do this again. No 4 am wake up time and no puking! Here's J and his rare brown trout.

R and J caught 4 salmon, here they are with their catches. R insists that he caught the biggest but failed to take a picture so I guess we'll have to take his word for it....

We spent the night in Manistee and the next day we drove along the western shore and stopped at a few places before heading home. Here we are on the beach in Ludington.

After playing in the sand we drove on to Muskegon and R, M and J toured the USS Silverside submarine. We also shopped a bit in Holland. A great end to a fun trip. Where will we go next year?

Finally a glider!

J has kept saying that he would get me a rocker or glider for awhile now, but being the squeaky person that he is, he's been giving me excuses forever, now its towards the end and I took care of things as usual...here's my $20 glider with ottoman. J can't complain about that.

She's almost here!

I just looked at the countdown and it says 48 days!!!! I can't believe it. The first time I saw her, I was telling myself it would take forever for her to get here and now its almost time!!

Today we had an ultrasound to check the placement of the placenta, looks like we are a go for natural birth, no scheduled c-section required unless its necessary. Yay! Check her out, she's too big to fit in the picture, so its only a head shot.

It's been 6 years!

Today is our six year anniversary. We're like the old married couple and didn't do much. I didn't even get flowers! Instead we went out and spent money on a crib, stroller and a pack & play.

Baby Shower #2

Thanks to C for doing a great job hosting and Mom for all the yummy food and Mrs. K for the awesome brownies! I was thrilled to see everyone who came and put up with all the games. We played Baby Pin where each person was given 2 pins and if you hear someone say baby then you can take their pin. Whoever had the most at the end wins. Next game was How well do you know your Nursery Rhymes. We also had a questionnaire and quests had to guess how J would answer and how I would answer. If you want to see the questions, e-mail me. We also played Guess how big my belly is and Baby Bingo. To everyone who was there, thank you so much for the fantastic gifts and a great time. Baby S is excited to meet all of you.

Road trip with K&B

Since we didn't get to go to CO with K&B, we decided to do a road trip. We went to Brown County State Park in IN, gambled a bit at the French Lick Casino, stopped at the Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest, saw Superman in Metropolis, IL, drove a wine trail and came home by Route 66.

I can fix it, he says...

One of J's few chores is to vacuum. Instead of being a quick clean up, it ends up being a sad moment. Here are the pieces to the Wii sensor bar, apparently it got eaten by the vacuum.

He also broke one of the games. He said he could fix the cord, but I said no. Instead I went out and got a wireless sensor bar, so we can avoid this in the future.

Baby Shower #1

My first baby shower! Thanks to Aunt K and M for hosting and throwing the party.

Uncle B's birthday picnic.

For Uncle B's 60th bday, Aunt K planned a picnic. It was nice and sunny but just a bit hot. There was great food and an overall great time.

Here are the boys checking out the visitors we had hiding out in the shelter. Bats!

Check out Uncle B's new boat.

Birthday Song...

Check out R signing at his own birthday party. Does this song tell you how old he is?

It also takes everything he's got to blow out the candles.

I love this picture! That's super cute Baby H.

After getting the new car, the ZX2 sat out on the lot for a few weeks and then it disappeared. I found it on the dealership website and look how much its going for?!

It's a GIRL!!!

Today was our ultrasound to see the gender of the baby. Say hello to our little GIRL!! The technician is 90% sure its a girl, but J is still holding on to the 10% that it could be a boy. This little girl is going to wear us out. She was constantly moving while we were checking her out, it was hard for the tech to see the privates. We also saw her stretch her legs, where she then stepped on my bladder, no wonder I have to go so often now! Can't wait to meet you little girl!!

Visitors

Also this weekend, BPLM came to visit before they move 8 hours away from us. We went to see the bean, play in the water, took a ride on the free trolley, and walked Navy Pier. There was also a stop at the American Girl store to make one little girl happy.

Saturday, June 21, 2008

This past weekend we attended the wedding of J's good friend T. T was an usher at our wedding and we've been waiting a long time for them to finally tie the knot. Congrats to T&D.

In between the ceremony and reception, we hung out with this cutie pie, L.

Father's Day

For this year's Father's Day, we went downtown to Navy Pier. My Dad's school had their graduation, so while he was being put to sleep there, J, my Mom and myself went shopping. After graduation, we grabbed a quick lunch and then went to see Cirque de Shanghai (a chinese acrobatic show). Then we walked around Navy Pier and went to Chinatown for dinner. I was pretty tired by the end of that day.

Baby Names

So today I was telling J what Jessica Alba named her baby girl, Honor, and he didn't really like it. So I said what about Coco or Apple? Or Banana or Orange? Then a pizza hut commercial came on and I said, I know!! If we have a boy we name it Pizza and if we have a girl we name it Pasta!!! What could be more perfect! J loves pizza and I love pasta!! He didn't go for the idea so back to the drawing board for us. :D

Visitor at work...

While I was busy working, a visitor came by my window. I had heard it existed but never got to see it, well here it is:

Pretty flowers.

When J's parents were here in April, I planted pansies into the planters I got for my birthday. They look great!

I got these flowers that game in ball form, all you do is toss them in the dirt and they should grow. I'm still waiting for them to flower but right now they look like a bunch of weeds.

Thanks to K&B who got us an early anniversary gift from the Farmer's Market in DM. Its the looney bird in our front yard.
